Who this course is for
This course introduces Chinese double-sided embroidery to learners who already have some hand-embroidery experience. It is not recommended for complete beginners to hand embroidery. Please tell us about your experience and learning goals when you enquire.
Teachers and language
The course teachers are Shao Xiaocheng and Xiao Yao. Teaching is in Chinese, supported by GPT-assisted voice translation and English-language materials.
Format and duration
The course is taught online, one-to-one, for a total of 16 hours: 13 hours of live teaching and practice, a two-hour live assessment and one hour of individual live feedback. Sessions are generally around two to three hours; the one-hour feedback session can be arranged separately.
Each teaching hour is 60 minutes. Breaks, preparation and independent practice outside the live sessions do not count towards the 16 hours. Lesson times are agreed across the learner’s and teachers’ time zones before payment.
Teaching, assessment and feedback
The programme combines live demonstrations and practical guidance in double-sided embroidery with an assessment project and individual feedback. Your lesson plan, practice preparation and submission arrangements are confirmed before payment.
The two-hour assessment does not guarantee that a complete piece will be finished within that session. One resubmission is permitted. The individual feedback hour is part of the 16-hour total, not an additional complimentary hour.
After-class questions
Xiao Yao handles questions related to this course for 30 days after the course ends, normally replying within two working days. The contact channel is provided with the course arrangements. This is not an instant-response or continuously staffed service.
Tools, materials and shipping
Tools, materials and delivery are not included in tuition. Please contact us before booking to confirm the required double-sided embroidery fabric, tools and equipment, including a suitable hoop. If you need to purchase materials from us, availability, package contents and prices are confirmed before that purchase.
International shipping is quoted separately for the delivery destination before a materials order is confirmed.

Classes use VooV. An invitation is sent by email approximately two days before class. If it has not arrived by noon on the preceding day, check your spam folder and contact us. Please read the online-class joining instructions before your lesson.
Rescheduling, cancellations and refunds
For a rescheduling request, please contact us at least one week before the lesson. A replacement time is arranged by mutual agreement. Cancellation, refund, absence and dispatched-materials arrangements are confirmed in writing before payment. Please contact us if your circumstances change.
Course fee
Please contact us to confirm tuition before booking. Tools, materials and shipping are separate. Expected payment processing costs are included in the confirmed tuition; no PayPal-specific checkout surcharge is added.
Participants under 16
Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult attendee or chaperone throughout the class.
